We adhere to strict sourcing guidelines, ensuring our wood comes from licensed sites. This helps to preserve biodiversity, prevent excessive deforestation, support local communities and traders, and minimise our environmental impact by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The wood used in our products originates from sustainably managed forests, many of which are centuries old. For example, pine and spruce mature in 100 years, fir in 100-150 years, and beech and oak in 120-160 years.
At the moment, these forests currently cover over 40,000 hectares and continue to grow. Our manufacturing partners also ensure that nothing is wasted and that all parts of the wood are used. as a result, some of the byproducts created include: wood chips, skirting boards, and sawdust, even the bark is repurposed for gardening purposes.
We’re delighted to say that our manufacturing partners also carry the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification, signifying that the wood is sourced from legal and reputable origins, that forest workers enjoy safe and healthy working conditions, that rare or endangered species and their habitats are protected, and that harvesting practices are sustainable, ensuring forest renewal.
